Galle is located in the South West coast of Sri Lanka about 70 kms from Colombo which represents about 4 hours drive from Colombo. Alternatively you can fly to the airport with the company Koggala Air taxi Air Sri Lanka, which takes 50 minutes. Koggala airport takes about half an hour to Galle. Galle is situated on a coastal plain surrounded by mountains.

In Galle the weather is warm and humid throughout the year, without distinct seasons, and two rainy seasons. There are heavy monsoon rains between May and August, and again between October and January, but the showers are often only for short periods.
The best way is to move from Tuktuk. Always combine the price of the trip before the start. For longer distances it is best to hire a taxi.
