BEST TIME TO VISIT
The weather in Maldives is tropical – hot, humid and dry. The rainy season is from July to August because of the southwest monsoon and from November to March due to northeast monsoon. December to April is probably the best time to visit Maldives.
From the 1.190 coral islands of Maldives, only 200 are inhabited, being most of them are covered by abundant tropical vegetation and palm trees.
HOW TO GET THERE
Malé International Airport (Hulule Island) is 2km (1.2 miles) in Malé.
Boats from the various islands travel from the airport to take the visitor to their accommodations or to Malé centre.
There are internal flights connecting the islands, and also two seaplane companies operating seaplane transfers from Malé airport to individual resorts.
Getting Around by Water
Most of the islands are connected by speed boats.
